Using integrations in apps
Apps in Play can connect to integrations to display external data, trigger actions, and interact with the tools your team uses.
Connecting during build
Tag integrations when describing your app:
“Build a dashboard that shows our
/striperevenue and/google-sheetspipeline data”“Create a tool that lets us search
/apollocontacts and add them to our CRM”
Play wires up the integration connections as part of the build.
Connecting after build
Add integrations to an existing app by asking in the same chat:
“Connect
/slackto this app so it can post notifications”“Add
/hubspotdata to the contacts view”
What integrations enable in apps
Data display — Show live data from external tools (revenue charts, ticket counts, email metrics)
User actions — Let users trigger integration actions through the app UI (send an email, create a record, post a message)
Real-time updates — App data refreshes from the integration source
Combined views — Pull data from multiple integrations into a single dashboard
Examples
App type | Integrations used | What it does |
|---|---|---|
Revenue dashboard | Stripe, Google Sheets | Shows MRR, churn, pipeline in one view |
Lead management | Apollo, HubSpot | Search prospects, enrich data, sync to CRM |
Support overview | Zendesk, Slack | Display ticket metrics, send alerts to channels |
Content calendar | Notion, Google Calendar | Plan content, schedule publication dates |
