Apps overview

Apps are the things your team builds and uses in Play. A CRM, a budget dashboard, an onboarding checklist, a support ticket system. If your team needs it, you can build it by describing it in plain language.

What apps can do

  • Display and interact with data from your collections

  • Connect to external tools through integrations (Slack, Stripe, Google Sheets, etc.)

  • Embed AI co-workers as conversational interfaces

  • Support real-time data updates

  • Be shared with your team with controlled access levels

How apps are built

You describe what you need in a chat. Play plans the structure and builds it. The app appears in the right panel. You iterate by asking for changes in the same conversation.

Where apps live

  • Apps page - A gallery of all apps in your workspace. Filter by category tags, search by name, or view pinned apps.

  • Home page - Pinned apps and recently opened apps appear on your Home for quick access.

  • Sidebar - Your apps are listed under the Apps section for one-click access.

Version history

Every time you build or update an app, a new version is created. You can browse the version history to see how an app evolved over time.

Changes you make don't go live immediately. Your team keeps using the current version until you explicitly upgrade the app.
